For septic service companies ยท Voice agents
Voice agents for septic companies.
Septic backups do not wait for business hours, and a homeowner with sewage in the basement will call down the list until someone answers. A voice agent is a genuine fit here.

You vs. Joe Schmo Septic.
Left is what a missed call does to you today. Right is Joe Schmo Septic and their voicemail. Drag the line, then hit the button.
Crickets on the left. That is the problem.
They called the next name.
"Hi, you have reached Joe Schmo Septic. Please leave a message after the beep."

The septic company version
Why it matters.
This trade has the classic after-hours problem. A Saturday night backup, a pump alarm going off, water pooling over the leach field. The homeowner is upset and wants a human. The agent says in its opening line that it is automated, takes the address and what is happening, and sends anything urgent to whoever is on call immediately. The caller knows help is being reached, instead of leaving a voicemail and dialing the next company.
It also catches the non-urgent calls you miss while on a job: pumping requests, inspection bookings, questions about where a tank might be. Those get logged, confirmed by text and handed to you, so the next morning starts with a clean list.
What I would build
For a septic company.
I write the rules with you first: a backup into the house, an alarm on a pump chamber, sewage surfacing in the yard. Those escalate to a human immediately. A pump-out request waits for the morning.
The agent captures name, number, address and the problem, confirms back what it heard, then texts a copy. For inspections it can ask for the listing agent and the target closing date.
Routine pump-outs can be booked into your calendar where that makes sense. The agent reads from your data and does not improvise prices, so nobody is told a number you would never charge.
The agent states it is automated in its opening line, and a caller can ask for a person at any point. Every call is transcribed and logged against the contact.
The mistake I see
Letting the agent give advice on a backup
The tempting shortcut is an agent that tells panicked callers what to do: stop using water, check this, try that. It should not. Advice about a sewage problem needs a person who knows the system. The agents I build collect details, escalate to a human, and leave the guidance to whoever is on call.

Questions
What septic service companies ask.
Will people trust a machine during a septic emergency?
They are told up front that it is automated and can ask for a person at any point. What matters to someone at night is that the call was answered, the address was taken correctly and a real person is being reached. That beats a voicemail greeting by a wide margin.
What if I do not offer after-hours service?
Then the agent says so honestly, takes the details, and books the first available slot or tells the caller when to expect a call. You still keep the job instead of losing it to the next name. It should never imply someone is coming tonight when nobody is.
Can it handle inspection calls from agents?
Yes. It can take the property address, the listing agent's details and the closing timeline, confirm them back and text a copy. Scheduling can go straight to your calendar if you allow it. Anything about a failed system, or what a repair will cost, goes to you.
