For HVAC companies ยท Social media management

Social media for HVAC companies.

Nobody follows an HVAC company for fun. They check your page when deciding whether to let you into their basement, and it needs to look alive when they do.

The HVAC company version

Why it matters.

Social is not where most HVAC jobs start, so be honest about what it is for. A homeowner gets two replacement quotes and looks both companies up. One page has recent installs, a tech explaining a heat pump defrost cycle and a reminder about fall tune-ups. The other last posted a holiday greeting from a few years back. That comparison happens quietly, and you never hear about the job you lost.

The posting also does a real job between seasons. Reminding followers to change filters, book tune-ups or ask about agreements keeps you in mind for the moment something breaks. The price is $499 setup, your first month free, then from $499/month, on a 90-day agreement you can cancel any time after.

What I would build

For an HVAC company.

01A system built around your seasons

The complete content system built in your brand: templates and recurring themes for tune-up season, the first cold snap, cooling season and the shoulder months. Done once, so every post after looks like it came from the same company.

02Posts that sound like your techs

Posts written and designed in your voice. Plain explanations of what a heat pump does in a cold snap, why a filter matters, what a tune-up actually checks. No stock photos of thermostats and smiling families.

03One approval, then it publishes

Scheduled and published on your channels after one approval step. You look once, tap once. Nobody at your shop has to remember to post during the week the phones never stop ringing.

04A monthly summary you can read fast

What ran, what got attention and what moved. If install photos outperform tips, I post more of them. If nothing moves on a platform, I say so and stop spending effort there.

The mistake I see

Going silent all winter

HVAC pages often go quiet from November to March because everyone is in basements, then flood with posts in April. To a homeowner checking you out in January, that silence looks like a company that closed. Consistency matters most in the busy season, which is exactly why handing it off makes sense.

Questions

What HVAC companies ask.

Can you post install photos without showing customers' homes?

Yes, and you should be careful about it. I focus on the equipment, the workmanship and the tech, crop out house numbers and anything identifying, and only use exteriors with the homeowner's permission. A clean line set or a tidy mechanical room tells the story without exposing anyone's address.

Which platforms matter for an HVAC company?

Facebook, because homeowners and local community groups are there. Google Business Profile posts, because that is where people see you during a search. Instagram if you have good install photos and someone who enjoys it. TikTok only if a person on your team genuinely likes making video, because forced video shows.

Will social media bring in emergency calls?

Rarely, and I will not pretend otherwise. Someone with no heat searches Google and calls. What social does is make sure that, when they or the replacement shopper check you out, you look current and capable. It also keeps maintenance members reminded between visits, which is where it pays.

What comes after

Pairs well with.
