Online stores for real estate agents.

You do not sell anything that fits in a cart, and a store will not win you listings. The one place it can help is how you thank the people who already hired you.

The real estate brokerage version

Why it matters.

An agent's business runs on relationships and reputation, and none of it gets bought with a checkout button. If you were hoping a store would bring in buyers or sellers, it will not, and the money is better spent on your own website and the follow-up that keeps your sphere warm. That is the honest answer, and it is the one I would give you on a call.

The narrow case is client appreciation. Agents who give closing gifts, send a holiday item to past clients, or outfit a team in branded gear can run all of it through a private store. Past clients pick their own gift from a short collection, it ships to them, and you stop guessing sizes and storing boxes in the trunk. I built the print-on-demand store for my husband's apparel brand, and this is that same setup pointed at thank-yous.

What I would build

For a real estate brokerage.

01A private closing gift shop

A password-protected Shopify storefront where a past client picks a gift using a code you send at closing. They choose the item and the address, so it arrives once they are moved in instead of getting lost in the chaos of closing week.

02Gifts worth keeping, in your brand

Collection architecture keeps it short: a few useful pieces for a new home, carrying your mark quietly rather than like a yard sign. Visual merchandising and photography direction make the shop feel like a gift, not a promo catalog.

03Team gear without a closet full of shirts

For teams, a separate collection where agents order branded apparel and accessories on demand in their own sizes. Print-on-demand means no bulk order sitting in the office, and every item follows your brand and your brokerage's rules.

04Gift codes that ride along with anniversaries

A home anniversary is a natural moment for a small gift. The code can go out with that message, so the store and your sphere follow-up work together instead of becoming two separate projects you have to remember.

The mistake I see

Turning the thank-you gift into a listing ad

Some agents turn the closing gift into a pitch: a mug with a giant headshot and phone number, or a gift page stacked with referral asks. Clients notice. The gift should feel like thanks for trusting you with a big decision. Keep the branding quiet, skip the hard sell, and let your follow-up handle referrals on its own schedule.

What you get

E-commerce.

A store built end to end, from the name on it to the checkout.

  • The storefront, designed and built on Shopify
  • Product pages that answer the question before it is asked
  • Collection architecture, so browsing goes somewhere
  • Visual merchandising, and the photography direction to feed it
  • Mobile checkout flow, tested on an actual phone
  • Launch assets: banners, email, social, the lot
Price. A full store build starts at $3,998 ($1,999 to start, $1,999 at completion). Single fixes start at $499.

How it goes

For a real estate brokerage, step by step.

→ Keep scrolling. It moves sideways.

  1. Know the shelf

What you sell, who buys it, and what they compare it against.

  2. Structure first

    Collections, categories, the path through.

  3. Look, then build

The look applied to templates rather than to one page, then products loaded and the buying flow tested end to end.

  4. Launch and watch

Watch what people actually do, and fix that.

  5. Step five is you.

The free Receipt shows what your real estate brokerage should fix first. About half a minute, no card.

Questions

What real estate agents ask.

Do I need an online store as an agent?

Almost certainly not to win business. Buyers and sellers choose an agent through referrals, reviews and how you present yourself, not through a cart. If your website, reviews and follow-up are not solid yet, put your budget there first. A gift store only makes sense once you close enough deals to want a better way to thank people.

Are there rules about closing gifts?

Your brokerage may have policies on client gifts, and anything that rewards referrals from other professionals in a transaction can raise its own issues. Check with your managing broker before you set up anything tied to referrals. A thank-you to your own client after closing is the simplest case, and that is what this store is built around.

What does it cost to run once it is built?

Shopify charges a monthly platform fee, and each gift carries a product and shipping cost paid when it is ordered. With print-on-demand there is no inventory to buy upfront and nothing to store. The build itself is quoted after a call, based on how many products you want and whether a team collection is part of it.
