For masonry and hardscape contractors ยท Paid ads
Paid ads for masonry contractors.
With lead times measured in months, ads for a mason should run in short, deliberate bursts. Paying for clicks you cannot schedule until next year is not a strategy.

The masonry contractor version
Why it matters.
Ads make sense for masons in specific moments. A gap in the calendar you want to fill with a certain type of job. Winter, when homeowners plan spring builds. A push into chimney repair before heating season. Outside those windows, a booked-out mason running ads is paying to generate quotes that will either wait for months or go to someone else.
Every ad needs a destination that sells. A click on a retaining wall ad should land on a page full of retaining walls with a clear request form, not a home page that opens on a fire pit. If the page does not convert, ads only make you lose money faster.
What I would build
For a masonry contractor.
Search and call-only campaigns aimed at people already looking for the work you want most, such as retaining walls or chimney rebuilds, inside a tight radius around your base.
Landing pages built for the ad, with projects of that exact type and a request form that asks the right questions. Retargeting reaches homeowners who browsed your projects and left to think it over.
Call tracking so you know what a booked job cost. On high-ticket masonry, a few expensive clicks can still be a bargain if one becomes a signed wall. I measure to signed work, not inquiries.
A pause rule for when you are booked out. When the schedule fills to the point that new requests would wait too long, the ads stop until there is room again.
The mistake I see
Advertising the jobs you least want
Masons sometimes run ads for small repairs because they generate the most clicks. Then the calendar fills with quick jobs that block bigger builds, and the ad budget subsidizes the work you least wanted. Advertise the projects you actually want more of, and let repairs come through the profile and referrals.

Questions
What masonry and hardscape contractors ask.
Are ads worth it in winter when I cannot build?
Often it is the right time. Homeowners research and book spring hardscape over the winter, so a modest campaign aimed at project consultations can fill the early season. It only works if the landing pages show strong projects and the quote follow-up is ready to run.
Should I use ads or just rely on referrals?
If referrals fill your calendar with the jobs you want, keep relying on them. Ads help when referrals bring the wrong mix, when you want to grow into a new type of work, or when you are widening the area you serve. They are a tool for a specific gap, not a default.
How small can I start?
Small. I start with a tight radius, a narrow set of keywords and a real budget cap, then measure to booked work. Ad spend goes to the platform, not to me. If the results say stop, I stop and tell you why.
