For remodelers and home improvement contractors ยท Paid ads
Remodeling ads that pay off over a long decision.
Nobody clicks an ad and signs a kitchen contract that afternoon. Remodeling ads work when the page builds trust and retargeting keeps you in view through a long decision.

The remodeling company version
Why it matters.
Paid search for remodeling brings in homeowners who are actively planning, but they are rarely ready the day they click. They look at your projects, leave, look at two other remodelers, talk it over and come back weeks later. If the ad lands on a generic home page with no project proof, they never come back. If it lands on a page built for that exact project type, with real examples and a clear first step, the click has a chance.
I check the destination first, and if the pages are not ready I fix them or do not start. Then: search campaigns for specific project types with a tight radius and a real budget cap, retargeting for homeowners who visited and left, and tracking that measures cost per signed project, not clicks. When the calendar is full for months, the pause rule kicks in.
What I would build
For a remodeling company.
Separate campaigns for kitchens, baths or additions, each landing on its own page. No sending a bathroom search to a page about everything you do.
Homeowners who visited and left see your project work again while they decide. That matters in a trade where the decision takes weeks, not minutes, and the click was only the start.
Each ad gets a page matching its search, with relevant projects and a short inquiry form. Your home page was never built for this job.
Call and form tracking, so you know what a signed remodel cost in ad spend. Plus a pause rule for stretches when you are booked out for months.
The mistake I see
Judging remodeling ads on the first week of leads
Remodelers often turn ads on, see no signed contracts in the first couple of weeks, and turn them off. The decision cycle is longer than that. Or they see plenty of form fills and celebrate without checking whether those were real projects. Measure to signed work, give it a fair window based on your actual sales cycle, and decide from there.
What you get
Paid ads.
Ads amplify whatever is already there. If the page does not convert, ads make you lose money faster.
- Search and call-only campaigns for people already looking
- Retargeting for the ones who bounced
- Landing pages built for the ad, not the home page
- Call tracking so you know what a booked job cost
- A pause rule for when you are booked out

Questions
What remodelers and home improvement contractors ask.
Should I run ads if I am booked out for months?
Probably not, or not at full budget. Paying for inquiries you cannot serve for a long time wastes money and frustrates homeowners. That is exactly what the pause rule is for. Some remodelers keep a small campaign running for the projects they want most, so the pipeline never goes fully cold.
Are leads from lead-selling sites the same as ads?
No. Those sites often sell the same lead to several contractors, so you are racing others to the phone. Your own ads send homeowners to your own pages, where they see your work and contact only you. Whether shared leads are worth it depends on your sales process, but they are a different thing.
What budget makes sense for remodeling ads?
Enough to learn, small enough that a bad month does not hurt. I start with a tight radius and a hard cap, track to signed projects, and decide whether to scale or stop. Your ad spend goes to the platform and my fee is separate. If the numbers are not working, I will say so plainly.
