For plumbers ยท Paid ads
Paid ads for plumbers.
Emergency plumbing clicks are expensive, and a click that lands on a weak page is money gone. I fix where the ad goes before I buy a single click.

The plumbing company version
Why it matters.
Paid search fits the plumbing customer who is searching right now with a problem, and call-only campaigns fit that customer best: they see your number, tap it, and they are talking to you. The ad still has to match what they searched. Someone looking for frozen pipe repair should see an ad about frozen pipes, not a generic plumbing headline.
Water heater replacements and remodel work need a different setup: a landing page built for that job, with your process, real photos and a way to book. Ads only work if the page converts, and if yours does not, I fix it first or I do not start.
What I would build
For a plumbing company.
Search and call-only campaigns for leaks, clogs, burst pipes and no hot water. Tight radius, tight keywords, a real budget cap, and schedules that match when someone can actually answer the phone.
Landing pages built for the ad: water heater replacement, tankless installs, sump pumps. Each one is fast on mobile, shows real work and makes booking an estimate easy from the first screen.
Call tracking so you know which campaign produced a booked job and what that job cost to win. Clicks and impressions are not the goal. Jobs on the schedule are, and that is what I report.
A pause rule for when you are booked out, like the week after a deep freeze. Paying for calls you cannot take wastes money and annoys people. Retargeting keeps you visible to the planned-work visitors who left without booking.
The mistake I see
Sending emergency clicks to the home page
The common setup sends every ad to the home page, where the visitor has to hunt for the number among a slideshow, a mission statement and a list of services. Emergency visitors give up fast. The ad should land on a page about that exact problem, with the number at the top and nothing in the way.
What you get
Paid ads.
Ads amplify whatever is already there. If the page does not convert, ads make you lose money faster.
- Search and call-only campaigns for people already looking
- Retargeting for the ones who bounced
- Landing pages built for the ad, not the home page
- Call tracking so you know what a booked job cost
- A pause rule for when you are booked out

Questions
What plumbers ask.
Are Local Services Ads worth it for plumbers?
Often, yes. They show above regular ads with your reviews and a verification badge, and you pay per lead rather than per click. They lean heavily on your reviews and how quickly you respond, so they work best once your profile and phone handling are solid. I look at both before recommending them.
Should we bid on emergency keywords at night?
Only if someone actually answers at night. Paying for a midnight click that goes to voicemail is the worst outcome in plumbing advertising. If you have real on-call coverage, night campaigns can be valuable. If not, schedule ads for the hours you can respond and let the rest go.
How quickly will ads bring in work?
Calls can start soon after campaigns go live, but the first weeks are about learning which searches and pages produce booked jobs. I start small and local and measure to jobs. Scaling up and stopping are both acceptable outcomes, and I will tell you plainly which one the numbers point to.
