For coffee shops and cafes ยท Content design
Content design for coffee shops.
Seasonal menus turn over with the weather, events need flyers, and the specials board needs a sign. Somebody has to make all of it look like one shop. That is content design.

The coffee shop version
Why it matters.
Look around a busy cafe and count the design. The menu board. The specials sign by the register. The poster for the open mic. The card next to the retail beans. The holiday gift card display. The email to regulars about new hours. Most of it gets made in a hurry on a phone app by whoever has a minute, and the shop ends up with a handful of fonts and no look.
Content design hands you finished files and reusable templates for all of it, in your brand. You keep posting from your own accounts and printing on your own schedule. The difference is that the seasonal launch, the event poster and the menu card finally look like they came from the same place.
What I would build
For a coffee shop.
Post graphics, a story sequence, a menu insert and a counter sign for each seasonal change, all built from the same facts and the same look. Each file arrives sized for where it will be used.
Templates for open mics, art shows, tastings and community nights that you can fill in yourself. Printable for the door and sized for social, so the event looks the same everywhere.
Print-ready menus, price cards and specials signs designed to be read from the line. Built so swapping a seasonal item means editing a template, not starting from a blank page.
An email layout for seasonal launches, new hours and events. Regulars who joined at the register are your easiest audience, and a clean email reaches them without an algorithm in the way.
The mistake I see
Letting the chalkboard set the brand
A talented barista with chalk is an asset. But when the hand-drawn board, the phone-app poster and the printed menu all look unrelated, the shop feels improvised. Give the chalk art a defined role inside the brand, like seasonal specials, and keep the permanent pieces consistent around it.

Questions
What coffee shops and cafes ask.
Can you design our menu board?
Yes, as print-ready files sized for your board or screens. I start from your real menu and the distance customers read it from, then build a layout where the core drinks stay put and seasonal items swap in. If you use a digital menu screen, I size the files for that instead.
We sell retail coffee and merch. Can you design labels and displays?
Yes, that falls under print collateral. Bean bag labels, shelf talkers, a gift card display for the holidays. I keep them inside your brand so the retail shelf looks like part of the shop instead of an afterthought by the register.
Do we have to commit to monthly design?
No. Some cafes take a monthly batch. Others work per campaign, usually around seasonal menu changes and the holidays. If your menu shifts with the seasons, a per-campaign rhythm often fits better than paying for a batch in the months when nothing changes.
