For movers ยท Paid ads
Paid ads for movers.
Moving clicks are competitive because movers and lead sites bid on the same words. Ads only pay off if your page and your reviews close the customer once they arrive.

The moving company version
Why it matters.
Someone searches for local movers and clicks your ad. The page they land on decides everything. If it is your home page with no pricing information, a stock truck and a slow form, they hit back and click the next ad, and you paid for nothing. If it shows your trucks, explains your pricing and books an estimate in a few taps, the click becomes a move.
Peak season makes this sharper. In summer, demand is high and your trucks fill on their own. Spending on ads then can mean paying for leads you cannot serve. In slower months, ads can fill real gaps. The pause rule and a seasonal budget often matter more than any keyword choice.
What I would build
For a moving company.
Campaigns for the moves you want most, aimed at people already searching, with a tight radius and a real budget cap. Call-only ads for mobile searchers who want to talk now.
An apartment-move ad lands on an apartment-move page, not your home page. Each landing page explains pricing, shows your trucks and crew, and books an estimate directly.
I track which ad produced which estimate and which estimate became a booked move. Clicks and impressions are not the measure. Booked moves are, and nothing else counts.
When your peak weekends are full, ads pause or shift to open dates. Paying for leads you have to turn away is the fastest way to waste an ad budget.
The mistake I see
Buying shared leads instead of building your own
Plenty of movers spend heavily on lead services that sell the same customer to several companies. The customer gets flooded with calls, and you race to the bottom on price. Your own ads send customers to your own page, where they chose you specifically. It takes more effort to set up and tends to produce better moves.
What you get
Paid ads.
Ads amplify whatever is already there. If the page does not convert, ads make you lose money faster.
- Search and call-only campaigns for people already looking
- Retargeting for the ones who bounced
- Landing pages built for the ad, not the home page
- Call tracking so you know what a booked job cost
- A pause rule for when you are booked out

Questions
What movers ask.
Should I run ads in the summer when I am already busy?
Maybe a little, aimed at the moves you want most, like full-service family moves or long distance. Otherwise, pause. Summer is when you should raise prices, not buy demand you cannot serve. Shift that budget toward spring, when people are booking summer moves, and toward the gaps in winter.
Are Local Services Ads worth it for movers?
They can be, since the badge adds trust in a scam-wary category and you pay per lead rather than per click. Availability and requirements vary by category and area, so check before planning around them. Treat them as one channel to test, alongside a strong profile and solid landing pages.
What should a moving ad say?
Specifics that answer fear: a real local company, written estimates, licensed and insured if you are, reviews people can read. Skip vague claims like best movers around. Say what kind of moves you do and make the next step clear. The ad should match the landing page so the customer feels they arrived in the right place.
What comes after
Pairs well with.
A moving website has to do two things fast: prove you are a real, insured company, and make it easy to request an estimate without a week of phone tag.
