Branding for movers.

Your truck is the biggest piece of marketing you own. It sits on a street for hours, every neighbor sees it, and it either looks like an established company or a rental with a magnet on the door.

The moving company version

Why it matters.

On moving day, the customer's neighbors watch your crew carry a dresser down the front steps. Then they read the side of the truck. Some of them are moving soon. A clean wrap with a name, a phone number and a web address they can remember is one of the cheapest lead sources you have. A faded, half-peeled logo sends a very different message.

Brand also does trust work before the move. When a customer is choosing between quotes, the one on proper letterhead with a consistent logo, matching shirts in the crew photos and a clean website feels like the safer bet. That is not vanity. In a business with scam stories everywhere, looking established is part of being believed.

What I would build

For a moving company.

01A logo built for a truck side

Big, simple and readable from across the street. I build the primary logo plus the stacked and single-color versions that fit a box truck, a cab door and a crew shirt.

02Colors that stay legible on a wrap

A palette with hex, RGB and CMYK values, chosen to hold up on vinyl through sun and road salt. High contrast, because a truck is read at a distance and often in motion.

03Paperwork that matches the truck

Typefaces chosen and licensed, with sizes and weights specified, so your estimate, contract and inventory sheets look like they came from the same professional company as the truck.

04A rule sheet your wrap shop can follow

One page with logo placement, minimum sizes, colors and phone number format. Hand it to the wrap shop, the shirt printer and the box supplier, and get the same result every time.

The mistake I see

A wrap with everything on it

Movers love to list every service on the truck: local, long distance, storage, packing, pianos, junk removal, plus a couple of phone numbers. At highway speed, nobody reads any of it. The truck needs a name, one clear line about what you do, a phone number and a web address. Everything else belongs on the website.

How it goes

For a moving company, step by step.

→ Keep scrolling. It moves sideways.

  1. Look at what exists

Your current marks, your competitors, and what your customers already associate with you.

  2. Direction, not options

Two directions, not eight. Eight is a way of making you do the deciding.

  3. Build the system

The mark, then everything that has to sit next to it.

  4. Hand it over

Organized files and a rule sheet. No hostage situation.

  5. Step five is you.

The free Receipt shows what your moving company should fix first. About half a minute, no card.

Questions

What movers ask.

Is a full truck wrap worth it over lettering?

If the truck is staying in your fleet, usually yes. A wrap turns every job into advertising on a residential street, which is exactly where your next customer lives. Lettering works on a tight budget. What matters most is that the name and phone number are big, clean and readable. I design for whichever you choose.

Should my crew wear uniforms?

Yes. Customers are letting strangers into their home and handing over everything they own. Matching shirts with your logo make the crew look organized and accountable, and they show up in every photo the customer takes. They also make your crew identifiable to neighbors, who may be the next people calling you.

Our name sounds like a big national mover. Is that a problem?

It can be. If customers confuse you with a national brand or a broker, you inherit their reviews and their reputation in people's heads. A local identity that reads as a real company with a real address works in your favor. I will tell you honestly if the name is costing you and what keeping it would take.
