For auto repair shops ยท Paid ads
Paid ads for auto repair shops.
Repair ads work best on urgent, specific searches like brake repair or a failed inspection. They fail when the click lands on a slow page and a shop with thin reviews.

The auto repair shop version
Why it matters.
Someone searching for brake repair near them is ready to book. A call-only ad gets them on the phone with your service writer, and a landing page that explains your estimate process and shows recent reviews can book them online. If that page is your home page with an expired coupon, they hit back and call the next shop.
Repair ads also need restraint. When the bays are booked out for days, paying for more leads just creates frustrated callers who cannot get in. The pause rule matters as much as the keywords. Ads amplify whatever is already there, so if the reviews and the site are not ready, fix those first.
What I would build
For an auto repair shop.
Campaigns for the repairs you want, like brakes, diagnostics or fixing failed inspections, aimed at people already searching, with a tight radius and a real budget cap.
A brake repair ad lands on a brake repair page that explains your process, shows real reviews and books directly. Not the home page, and not a coupon.
I track which ad produced which call and which call became a repair order. Clicks and impressions are not the measure. Cars in bays are the only number that counts.
When you are booked out, ads pause or shift to services with open capacity. Paying for calls you cannot take hurts your reputation as well as your budget.
The mistake I see
Running ads across a huge radius
Shops set a wide radius hoping for more calls, and pay for drivers who will never bring a car that far. Repair is local. People want a shop near home or work, especially when the car might be undrivable. A tight radius around where your customers actually live keeps the budget on drivers who can realistically become regulars.
What you get
Paid ads.
Ads amplify whatever is already there. If the page does not convert, ads make you lose money faster.
- Search and call-only campaigns for people already looking
- Retargeting for the ones who bounced
- Landing pages built for the ad, not the home page
- Call tracking so you know what a booked job cost
- A pause rule for when you are booked out

Questions
What auto repair shops ask.
Are Local Services Ads worth it for repair shops?
They can be, where the category is offered in your area, because the badge and pay-per-lead model fit trust-heavy searches. They lean heavily on reviews and verification. Treat them as one channel to test, alongside a strong profile and good landing pages, and track which one produces cars in the bay, not just calls.
Should I advertise during slow weeks?
That is often the best time. Slow stretches leave bays open, and ads for seasonal services like snow tire swaps or AC repair can fill them. During peak weeks, when you are booked out, pause. Ads should follow your capacity, not a fixed monthly habit that ignores what is happening in the shop.
How much should I spend on ads?
Enough to test properly in a tight area, and no more until the numbers show booked repairs. I start small, measure to booked work and either scale or stop. Your ad spend goes to the platform, and my management fee is separate. I will tell you honestly if ads are not the right move yet.
