Content design for auto repair shops.

The inspection report, the maintenance reminder, the explanation of what failed. Content design for a repair shop is the paperwork that makes a recommendation easy to believe.

The auto repair shop version

Why it matters.

A tech finds worn struts and a leaking seal during an oil change. The customer gets a report that is either a cluttered printout full of codes, or a clean page with photos, plain-language notes and a clear split between urgent and can-wait. The second one gets approved with less argument and earns more trust, because the customer can see what the tech saw.

Content design also covers the posts and emails you send yourself. Plenty of shop owners handle their own Facebook and newsletter but hate making the graphics. Templates in your brand make those fast and consistent, so the shop looks the same everywhere, from the counter to the inbox.

What I would build

For an auto repair shop.

01A clear inspection report layout

A designed template for multi-point inspections with room for photos, plain-language notes and urgency levels. You fill it in, and the structure makes it easy to read and approve.

02Maintenance and reminder emails

Email and newsletter design for oil change reminders, seasonal checkups and tire swap notices, so every message looks like your shop and not a generic software template.

03Post templates for your own feed

Graphics for maintenance tips, tech spotlights, seasonal reminders and before-and-after repairs, built so you can swap the photo and text yourself without breaking the layout.

04Counter and print pieces

Window cards, service menus, waiting room signage and glovebox maintenance cards that remind drivers when to come back. Print collateral designed and delivered as finished, print-ready files.

The mistake I see

Recommendations nobody can read

Plenty of shops hand customers a printout full of codes, part numbers and abbreviations. The customer cannot tell what is urgent, what can wait or why it matters, so they assume they are being sold something. The work might be completely necessary. A clear layout with photos and plain words is the difference between an approved repair and a lost customer.

Questions

What auto repair shops ask.

Should my inspection reports include photos?

Yes, whenever possible. A photo of the worn part beside the recommendation answers the question customers are too polite to ask: is this real? A lot of shop software can already capture photos. I design the template so photos, notes and urgency fit together clearly, whether it is printed or sent by text.

Do you design service menus for the counter?

Yes. A clean service menu with common services and starting prices, laid out simply, answers questions before the customer asks. It also makes the shop look organized. I design it in your brand and deliver print-ready files in the sizes you need for the counter and the window.

Can these templates work with my shop management software?

Partly. Shop systems often limit how much you can change their reports. I design within those limits where I can, and create separate branded pieces where I cannot. The goal is that everything a customer sees looks like your shop, even when the software has its own rules.

What comes after

Pairs well with.
