Marketing for chiropractors.

A new patient checks you twice: once for whether chiropractic is legitimate, once for whether you are. Your site has to pass both without overselling.

How the work actually comes in

The honest version.

Chiropractic patients arrive by two roads. Some already see a chiropractor and want one closer to work or covered by a new plan. Others are in pain, skeptical, and searching at night after a bad day. The second group reads everything. They want to know what the first visit involves, whether you take their insurance, and whether you will push a long plan on them before they have decided you can help.

They already found you. What they find is often a site full of conditions treated, a stock photo of a spine model and a generic contact form. That answers none of their real questions. Plain information about the first visit, cost, insurance and how care plans work earns the call. Big promises lose the skeptics, and your licensing board does not love them either.

By the numbers. The Census counts 51 businesses in Plymouth County, 51 in Bristol County, 76 in Norfolk County, 34 in Barnstable County, 62 in Worcester County, 103 in Rhode Island and 162 in New Hampshire classified as offices of chiropractors (Census County Business Patterns, 2023). 1. 01

    No straight answer about insurance

    LEAKING

Do you take my insurance is the question that stops a new patient cold, and the site answers it with please call. Plenty of people will not call to ask. List the plans you are in network with, say what a cash-pay visit costs, and explain how a patient can check their coverage.

  2. 02

    A first visit nobody explained

    LEAKING

Skeptical patients are nervous about what happens in the room. Will there be imaging, how long does it take, will they be adjusted on day one, what should they wear. When the site says nothing, the unknown wins and they stay home with the problem.

  3. 03

Care plans that feel like a sales pitch

    LEAKING

Presenting a long plan on the first visit with a package price can read as a hard sell, especially to someone who came in skeptical. Patients who feel pressured stop showing up and sometimes write a review about it. Explaining how plans work before they arrive takes the surprise out.

  4. 04

Follow-up texts that say too much

    LEAKING

A reminder that mentions a patient's condition, sent to a shared family phone, is a HIPAA problem and a trust problem. Automations for a health practice have to be written so the message works even if someone else reads it. Appointment, time, location. Nothing clinical.

The leak that costs the most

You missed the call. Now what?

One missed call. Two endings.

  1. You are adjusting a patient. The phone rings. You cannot get to it.
  2. They hit voicemail and hang up without leaving a message.
  3. They tap the next name on Google.
  4. You see the missed call. You call back. No answer.
  5. The same-day visit went to whoever picked up.

An example of how it plays out, not a real customer. The text-back is part of automation for chiropractors.

Timing

The year, for chiropractors.

January resets deductibles, and new patients often wait until they understand what their plan covers. Snow shoveling season, spring yard work and summer golf each bring their own wave of calls across New England. Use the slow stretches to fix your intake pages and follow-up, so the busy weeks book cleanly instead of burying the front desk.

Where I would start

Websites for Chiropractors

A chiropractor's first job online is answering the skeptic. A site with plain pages on the first visit, insurance, cost and care plans does that while you are treating patients. Every other service, from ads to local SEO, sends people to those pages, so they need to work first.

Questions

What chiropractors ask first.

Can I use patient testimonials on my website?

Yes, with care. Under HIPAA you need the patient's written authorization before using anything that identifies them as your patient, including their name, photo or story. Your licensing board may also restrict testimonials that imply guaranteed results. Keep them about the experience, the staff and the process, not about a condition being cured.

How do I reply to a bad review without breaking HIPAA?

Never confirm the person was a patient, and never mention their visit, condition or treatment, even if they posted it themselves. Reply in general terms about your policies and invite them to call the office. BrightLocal's Local Consumer Review Survey 2026 found people are 80% more likely to use a business that responds to every review, so reply, just carefully.

What does the free audit look at for a chiropractor?

The free audit searches for you the way a skeptical new patient would: your Google profile, your reviews and how you reply to them, the first visit and insurance information on your site, and what happens after someone fills in the intake form. You get a plain list of where a patient would hesitate.
