For insurance agencies ยท Content design

Content design for insurance agencies.

Insurance is paperwork the client does not want to read. Clear, designed documents make coverage understandable and make the agency look like it knows its job.

The insurance agency version

Why it matters.

Commercial renewal proposals often arrive as a stack of carrier quote pages stapled behind a cover letter. The client cannot compare the options and does not know what changed. An agency that sends a clean, branded summary comparing the options side by side, with the key changes called out, looks more competent than one with a slightly lower premium. Design does real selling in this business.

Content design suits agencies that already have marketing staff or producers sending their own material, but nothing looks consistent. I set templates once, then deliver batches: renewal season, a storm-prep campaign, a cross-sell push. You send from your own accounts.

What I would build

For an insurance agency.

01Proposal and coverage summary templates

Branded templates that turn carrier quotes into a comparison a client can actually read. Editable by your producers for every proposal without breaking the layout.

02Renewal and review letters

A designed letter or email that goes out before renewal, explains what changed and offers a review. Consistent across every client and every producer in the office.

03Coverage explainer one-pagers

Umbrella, flood, business owners policies, contractor coverage. One page each in plain language, ready to send after a quote or hand over at a meeting.

04Print for the community

Event flyers, sponsorship banners and the folder a new client receives at signing. Print-ready files in your brand, sized for wherever they are headed next.

The mistake I see

Explaining coverage in jargon

Agents speak in declarations pages, endorsements and exclusions. Clients hear noise. Explainers that use the jargon without translating it make the agency sound smart and the client feel lost, which is the wrong trade. Every piece I design puts the plain-language version first, with the technical term in parentheses.

What you get

How it goes

For an insurance agency, step by step.

→ Keep scrolling. It moves sideways.

  1. Set the templates

So everything after this is fast and consistent.

  2. Agree a batch

Monthly or per campaign, whichever suits how you work.

  3. Make it

Delivered as finished files, sized for where they are going.

  4. You publish

On your schedule, from your accounts.

  5. Step five is you.

The free Receipt shows what your insurance agency should fix first. About half a minute, no card.

Questions

What insurance agencies ask.

Can we use these templates for carrier-specific materials?

Your templates work for anything that is yours: proposals, letters, explainers, event material. Carrier-branded documents usually have to follow the carrier's own templates. I design around that line so nobody is redoing work after a compliance review.

Will a designed proposal really help us win business?

It will not beat a much lower price. It does help when prices are close, and it makes your recommendation easier to follow. A client who understands why you recommend the higher-coverage option is more likely to take it, and less likely to blame you later.

Do we need content design if social media is already covered?

Maybe not. Content design is about documents and assets you send or hand over. If your gap is proposals, renewal letters and print, content design fits. If your gap is posting consistently, social media management is the better buy.
