The detailing shop version
Why it matters.
After a winter of salt and kids, someone searches for interior detailing near them. The map shows a few options. They tap the one with recent before-and-after photos, reviews that mention stains and pet hair, and a clear list of packages. A profile with old photos and no services listed loses to one that looks active and specific.
Mobile detailers have a particular setup to get right, and AI search raises the stakes. BrightLocal's Local Consumer Review Survey 2026 found 45% of consumers use AI for local business recommendations, up from 6% in 2025. Those tools pull from your profile, listings and site, so clear, consistent information everywhere helps you get named.
What I would build
For a detailing shop.
Google Business Profile claimed and categorized properly, services and packages listed, and a steady stream of before-and-after photos showing real cars in real local conditions.
Name, phone and service area made consistent across directories. Detailers who moved from a home garage to a shop often carry mismatched listings that confuse customers and search engines alike.
Interior detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, pre-sale details, plus pages for the towns you cover. Schema markup that matches the content actually on each page.
Fired automatically after each detail, so reviews keep coming in season and out. Search Console is connected and checked, so I can see which searches find you.
The mistake I see
Using the same photos for months
Plenty of detailers upload a batch of photos when they set up the profile and never add more. Customers see the same cars from long ago and assume the business went quiet. A steady flow of new before-and-afters shows you are active, busy and trustworthy, and gives searchers fresh reasons to click.

Questions
What auto detailers and car washes ask.
Should my profile show my home address as a mobile detailer?
No. If you only travel to customers, set the profile up as a service-area business and hide the address. Then define the area you actually cover. A visible home address invites people to drive over, and it conflicts with how Google expects businesses that travel to customers to be listed.
Do I need separate pages for ceramic coating and detailing?
Yes. They are different searches from different customers. A coating buyer wants to know about prep, products, care and what a warranty covers. A detailing customer wants packages and prices. One page cannot answer both well, and separate pages let each one show up for the search it matches.
Do photos really help my local ranking?
Photos mainly help customers decide, and that is what matters. A profile with fresh before-and-afters earns attention, and attention from real searchers is good for you. Do not expect tricks like geo-tagging to do much on their own. Focus on real, recent photos that show your work clearly.
